The Countess's Story
Born in 1875, Blanche Carrelet de Loisy d'Arcelot becomes Countess of Thorens by marrying François-Noël de Roussy de Sales in 1896Coming from an influential family, she is the daughter of the Marquis of Arcelot, artillery officer et Knight of the Legion of Honour, and the granddaughter ofEdouard Carrelet de Loisy, a politician committed to serving rural areas.
On his mother's side, his industrial origins are illustrated by figures such as Jean Ménans, ironmaster, and Marie-Joséphine Liautey, founder of a Catholic school still active today. At the crossroads of thearistocracy, social commitment and religious heritage, Blanche embodies a generation of cultured women, discreet and faithful to their values.
